Nestled within the heart of one of Abu Dhabi’s bustling business districts, we converted an existing building into a new location for Mara, a popular destination for coffee, breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
While maintaining to preserve the inherent simplicity of the brand, we kept the neutral colors, minimalist lighting, and spacious environment consistent—while introducing new accents, subtle hints of plum, and foldable windows that seamlessly blend the indoor and outdoor areas together.
In adapting to the constraints posed by the existing building, we embraced the low ceilings and structural beams by proposing an open ceiling concept with an unconventional AC system to maximize the height of the space.
